Kripalu

A gentle flowing practice designed to create awareness through the breath and postures. There are three stages, a willful practice, focusing on alignment, breath and the presence of consciousness, willful surrender, relaxing into the opening of the body and mind, and meditation in motion, awakening the body's intuition, letting the body tell you what you need.

Beginning Ashtanga/Big Guy Yoga

This practice will focus on preparing for the primary series Ashtanga. You will learn proper breathing, abdominal control and outward focus to create an inward practice. This class will incorporate postures not in the primary series, such as inversions, in order to build strength and increase flexibility. The pace will be slower than a normal Ashtanga class and we will not complete the series in class.

Mellow/Moderate Vinyasa Flow

"Vinyasa" is from the Sanskrit term "nyasa", which means "to place," and the prefix vi, "in a special way". This flowing practice encourages the conscious connection and placement of the breath and the movement as the practitioner transitions from one posture to the next. As this connection grows it creates an inward appreciation also known as a “meditation in motion”. This class focuses on these qualities as well as on alignment, posture, strength and flexibility. This is a great practice for both the beginner and experienced yogi.
